What is a Knowledge Base?

Welcome to the Mast Knowledge Base – the central place for approved procedures, workflows, reference guides, training support materials, and more!

Think of this as the place where we keep the how-tos of our day-to-day work. As we move into new systems and updated processes, we're learning and building many new procedures at the same time. Instead of that information living in emails, PDFs, notes, or a combination of those, the knowledge base gives us one place to keep it all together.

You can use the knowledge base to:

  • Look up how to complete a task
  • Double-check the correct way to do something
  • Find the latest version of a procedure
  • Share instructions with someone else
Knowledge Base vs Paylocity LMS (Learning Management System)

While the knowledge base can be a great training resource, it does not replace the Paylocity LMS.

Use the LMS when:

  • You're learning something for the first time.
  • You're learning a larger process that involves multiple procedures or tasks.
  • You're completing assigned or required training.

Use the Knowledge Base when:

  • You need step-by-step instructions while you're doing the task.
  • You need a quick answer, not the full lesson or process.
  • You're troubleshooting an everyday task.
The LMS teaches
The Knowledge Base supports daily work.

As we go through UAT, go-live, and everything that comes after, things will change. New workflows will be introduced, and existing ones will be improved. A major benefit of this knowledge base is that updates are just a few clicks away, so everyone stays on the same page.

Over time, this will become the main reference place for how we do our work across the company.
